Data Always Wins: BioXclude's Antimicrobial Properties Unlike Any Other

It pleases me to share exciting new scientific research comparing amnion-chorion membrane (ACM) products BioXclude® (Snoasis Medical), AlloGuide™ GF (ACE Surgical) and AmnioExcite™ (Salvin Dental) in a well-established bacterial inhibition assay that evaluates ability to prevent the growth of Streptococcus gordonii, a pathogenic strain of bacteria associated with periodontal disease.

Comparisons of BioXclude, AlloGuide GF, and AmnioExcite

Agar growth plates seeded with bacteria form a visible bacterial lawn on the surface of the plate. Each quadrant receives a different ACM product or collagen membrane. Where growth of the bacteria is inhibited, a clear zone of inhibition can be observed where the bacterial lawn is absent. Observed results demonstrate the ability for BioXclude to inhibit bacteria far exceeds the competition.

A significant zone of bacteria inhibition around the BioXclude discs is observed at both normal atmospheric conditions (plates on left) and an anaerobic environment (plates on right) after 48 hours.
