BioXclude Best Case Winner: General Dentistry & Implantology
This spring we requested your best cases, and today I am both honored and excited to share with you our winner for the best case in the general dentistry and implantology category, Dean Licenblat, BDent, MSc, BSc, FPFA, DICOI, IPS Master.

Dr. Licenblat is a Diplomate member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Dean Licenblat together with Sydney Dental Aesthetics & Implants is one of a few dental surgeries to be awarded “Leading Implant Centres of the World”. Dr. Licenblat has always centered on oral rehabilitation using the most biocompatible dental materials available including the use of oral implants and the issues surrounding holistic health care. Today we are pleased to showcase the GBR case Dr. Licenblat has submitted: The patient in the below case presented to Dr. Licenblat following a previous bicycle accident in which the left upper incisor was lost along with a substantial amount of bone and consequently soft tissue. The resultant defect did not have enough bone volume to facilitate implant reconstruction, in addition the contralateral upper incisor was also damaged in the incident and extraction was indicated. Following consultation and consent, the patient decided to undertake horizontal augmentation with both allograft and xenograft as well as extraction and implantation. |
